The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact, unfilled volcanic caldera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising in Tanzania’s Arusha Region. Its steep walls enclose a natural amphitheater roughly 260 square kilometers wide, home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.
With one of the highest densities of predators in Africa, including a healthy population of black rhino, the crater offers some of the continent’s most reliable Big Five sightings within a single day. Its grassland, swamps and soda lake support wildlife year-round.
Park fees and current park regulations are published by Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA).
