The Lake Bogoria National Reserve lies within Kenya’s Great Rift Valley in Baringo County, a shallow soda lake framed by steep escarpment walls. Its shoreline is dotted with steaming hot springs and geysers, among the most active in East Africa.
The lake is best known for the vast flocks of lesser flamingo that gather along its alkaline waters, turning the shoreline shades of pink. Beyond the birdlife, the reserve is also home to one of Kenya’s largest populations of greater kudu.
Park entry fees, opening hours and current conservation regulations are published by the Kenya Wildlife Service.
