Where the Wild Meets the City

Nairobi National Park – Kenya

The Nairobi National Park is the only game reserve in the world located within a capital city, just minutes from downtown Nairobi. Its open grassland and riverine forest offer an unlikely juxtaposition of wild Africa against a backdrop of skyscrapers.

Despite its small size and city-edge location, the park holds a genuinely impressive range of wildlife, including one of Kenya’s most important black rhino sanctuaries, alongside lion, giraffe and buffalo. It’s an ideal introduction to safari for travelers with limited time.

Park entry fees, opening hours and current conservation regulations are published by the Kenya Wildlife Service.
