The Lake Nakuru National Park lies within Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, a soda lake ringed by acacia woodland, grassland and dramatic escarpment cliffs. Once famous chiefly for its flamingo flocks, the park has become one of Kenya’s most important rhino sanctuaries.
Both black and white rhino thrive within the park’s protected boundaries, alongside healthy populations of lion, leopard and Rothschild’s giraffe. Its compact size and well-maintained roads make it one of Kenya’s most rewarding and accessible parks.
Park entry fees, opening hours and current conservation regulations are published by the Kenya Wildlife Service.
