The Samburu National Reserve lies in Kenya’s arid north, where the Ewaso Nyiro River cuts a lifeline through rugged, semi-desert terrain. Far from the classic savannah of Kenya’s southern parks, Samburu offers a distinct and dramatic safari landscape.
The reserve is famous for the Samburu Special Five, species uniquely adapted to this arid environment and rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya. Its close ties to the local Samburu community add rich cultural depth to every visit.
